The competition
Get set for some creative thinking and you could be on your way to the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.
The Visa Olympics of the Imagination is an international art competition open to 10 to 14 year olds from all over the world. For the first time ever, you can now enter this competition with an original drawing you have created on your computer.
You can also create your artwork by hand, using pens, pencils, paints – in fact whatever you like, as long as the drawing is original and two-dimensional!
The theme for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games is “One World, One Dream”. We want you to think about how the Olympic Games help to unite cultures from all over the world and then turn your thinking into a drawing.
Start by asking yourself what dreams do people in every country have in common and take it from there. Once you have an idea, you need to put pen to paper (or hand to mouse) and start creating your masterpiece.
It must be an original illustration – you can’t use any photographic images in your artwork. But beyond that, the only limits to the drawing are those of your imagination – be as creative as you can!
